As a Murdoch student, you are expected to complete your studies with honesty, trust, fairness, respect and responsibility—we call this ‘academic integrity’.

Murdoch Academic Passport (MAP100) is an interactive online unit that provides an orientation to academic integrity at Murdoch University.

All undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students are required to complete MAP100 within their first semester or trimester. If you don’t complete MAP100 in your first semester or trimester, your academic record will be encumbered, which prevents you from accessing your final grades for all units.

You will be automatically enrolled in MAP100 in myMurdoch Learning at the beginning of your course or if you resume your studies after a break.

Exemptions apply if:

  • you completed a previous version of Murdoch Academic Passport.
  • you have completed a similar academic integrity module at another Australian university.

Once you have completed MAP100, you will continue to have access to the unit through myMurdoch Learning should you wish to review the information at any time.

Are you having trouble with access to MAP100, believe you have been incorrectly enrolled, or want to submit an exemption request? Please let us know through MyAnswers.

How to complete the Murdoch Academic Passport

MAP100 consists of a series of five modules that cover the different aspects of academic integrity. Each module contains information and activities that will help you to succeed in your studies.

You can choose whether to complete all five modules in one sitting or complete them one-by-one at your own pace. You should allow approximately a half hour per module, or 2-3 hours total. We recommend you complete MAP100 as early as possible in your studies to get the maximum benefit.

Throughout the five modules, you will:

  • discuss why academic integrity is important for study and future professional practice
  • demonstrate an understanding of the expectations of the academic environment
  • explain the key concepts, principles and practices of academic integrity
  • identify and reflect on your motivations for studying.

At the end of each module, you will test your learning with a multiple-choice quiz. This consists of ten questions and can be taken more than once (a new set of questions will appear for repeat attempts).

You must complete all modules and score at least 8 out of 10 for each quiz to complete the Murdoch Academic Passport (MAP100). Upon completion, your results will automatically be updated against your student record.

Penalty if you do not complete the Murdoch Academic Passport

If you don’t complete MAP100 in your first semester or trimester your academic record will be encumbered, which prevents you from accessing your final grades for all units.

The encumbrance will be automatically added after the census date of your first semester or trimester. When you subsequently complete MAP100, the encumbrance will be automatically lifted the day after completion and you will then be able to access your final grades for all units.
