Core services

The Den

Visit our student wellbeing hub, The Den, which offers activities such as therapy dogs, crafternoons, games, and interactive health and wellbeing events. Don't miss out on activities like yoga, LGBTIQA+ awareness day events, cultural days of significance, and sessions around sexual health, all free to students.

Enjoy this opportunity to connect with other students over a cup of tea, or if you need some help finding the right supports on campus, chat with our Student Wellbeing and Equity Ambassadors who are a friendly face there every day.

We are open every Monday to Friday in the Base (430.1.001) and Winter Garden (underneath the Student Hub) during semester weeks and you can drop in anytime from 10am-2pm and enjoy our daily themed offerings.

To stay up to date on events at The Den, watch your student announcements and fortnightly newsletter.

Pride at Murdoch

To celebrate and support Murdoch's LGBTIQA+ community, Pride at Murdoch hosts events and workshops for students and staff, and works behind the scenes to advise other Murdoch services on how they can support the community.

Our Ally training for staff and students raises awareness, teaches inclusive practice and appropriate ways to be effective allies, available to both staff and students.

Respect at Murdoch

To show our commitment to respectful relationships and reduce discrimination and sexual harm at Murdoch, we help up-skill staff and students through trainings, building inclusive policies, and implementing supports across campus for our community.

Our Bystander Intervention training for staff and students works to challenge attitudes and behaviours that lead to discrimination, harassment and assault and explores why being a bystander is important.

Self-Care at Murdoch

We are committed to supporting students health and wellbeing, so in addition to supports listed above, here are strategies for self-care that you can access all on your own.

Try your hand on our public pianos scattered around campus, or go to the library and check out one of the community guitars thanks to Music at Murdoch. If you're looking for practical tools and support to help yourself or a friend, try out the online resources in Being Well, Living Well, free to all Murdoch students.

We believe that prioritising your mental health is key, that's why Access Wellbeing and Equity have partnered with Act Belong Commit. Being mentally healthy feels good! Find out how at actbelongcommit.org.au
